Principles of Reablement

Duration: 1/2 Day

This course is a half-day introductory session aimed at those who work in Homecare. Can be used as a first step prior to the full day programme which enhances knowledge, skill and reablement practice further

 

REHIS Elementary Infection Prevention and Control (SCQF L5)

Duration: 1 Day

Qualification: REHIS Infection Prevention & Control Certificate

During this course, candidates will develop a greater understanding of infection prevention and control. Learning is consolidated with a multiple choice assessment.

 

Moving & Handling (People and Objects)

Duration: 1 Day

Qualification: HSC Futures Moving & Handling (People and Objects) Certificate

This 1 day course provides candidates with a clear understanding of the principles of moving people safely and includes the opportunity to practice and apply these principles in a variety of situations; individually, in a team, and with the assistance of equipment.

 

Medication Awareness

Duration: 1/2 Day

Qualification: HSC Futures Ltd Certificate

This 1/3 day course is designed to enable delegates to understand their role in the administration of medication and the recording procedures.  It is aimed at frontline workers in Health, Housing and Social Care

 

Reablement Training

Duration: 1 Day

This course is a full day session aimed at those who want more in-depth knowledge and experience in making reablement work in Homecare. To equip participants to know and understand how to manage reablement to benefit the person being cared for, and to understand their personal role/duties and responsibilities in further developing this model in their service setting and within care provision.


Recognising and Preventing Harm

Duration: 1/2 Day

This course is suited to anyone working within a Health and Social Care setting. It equips those to recognise and acknowledge the responsibility for promoting a safer service, in addition to raising awareness and understanding adults who may be at risk of harm. This course aims to enable staff members to appropriately respond to concerns.

 

SCQF Level 7 PDA in Health and Social Care (Supervision)

Duration: approx. 12 weeks

Qualification: SCQF Level 7

Entry Requirements: SVQ Health and social care level 3 or equivalent

This qualification is designed to meet the requirements of the Scottish Social Services Council. This course is designed as Continuous Professional Development for employees in a first line management role who provide support and supervisions to other staff or to meet the needs of those Carers working in a supervisory role. It meets the needs for additional SCQF points at SCQF level 7 for registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).


SCQF Level 7 PDA in Health and Social Care (Administration of Medication)(G9V5 47)

Duration: approx. 12 weeks

Qualification: SCQF Level 7

Entry Requirements: SCQF Level 5 or experienced evidenced through working in a care setting.

The PDA Administration of Medication is made up of 2 units; Unit F9D9 34 Administration of Medication and Unit DX2X 04 Administer Medication to Individuals. It is a new qualification which has been designed to meet the requirements of social service workers who are in a job role where they assist in or administer medication to individuals. Candidates should be actively involved in the administration of medication to individuals as part of their job role and function.

 It provides knowledge and skills to those who administer medicine, and also provides CPD opportunities for those who have to demonstrate that they have updated and maintained their practice. The qualification has links to SVQs in Health and Social Care at levels 3 and 4.
