Prepare for Site Safety - Janitors and Cleaners in Social Care and Educational Settings
2.5 Days Course

This is a 3 day course aimed at those wishing to work in a janitorial or cleaning role in a social care or educational setting. Having awareness of correct cleaning plans, disinfecting and sanitisation methods, what products should be used and when, how to prevent / control infections and ensuring your own safety when working in a janitorial or cleaning role is of great importance.

This course covers 3 modules: Site Safety for Janitors / Cleaners, Cleaning in educational and social care environments,  REHIS Elementary Infection Prevention and Control (SCQF L5)

Entry Requirements: There are no formal entry requirements however candidates should have a basic level of English and should ideally be seeking employment as a school janitor/cleaner or cleaner in a care home or homecare setting.

Qualifications Gained:

HSC Futures Certificate in Site Safety Training for Cleaners/Janitors

HSC Futures Certificate in Cleaning in Educational and Social Care Environments

REHIS Elementary Infection Prevention and Control (SCQF L5)

Course Breakdown:
Day 1 (am & pm) Site Safety Training for Janitors/Cleaners
Site Safety Principles, Fire Safety, Hazards, Slips and Falls, First Aid & Accident Procedures, Health & Safety, Detergents & Cleaning Products and Equipment.
Day 2 (am & pm) Cleaning in Educational and Social Care Environments
Basic Cleaning Information, Products and Uses, How to Do the Work thoroughly and Safely, How to Sanitise Thoroughly, Hazardous Waste, Carpet Care, Hard Floor Care, Health & Safety including Lone Working.
Day 3 (am & pm) REHIS Elementary Infection Prevention and Control (SCQF L5)
The main ojbectives of this course are:
- To understand and be able to apply the essential elements of standard infection control precautions
- To use knowledge gained to asses risk in practice
